CONSTRUCTIONAL TIMBER

The usage of timber is very wide, that is why it can be processed in various ways. Constructional timber is a double-cut timber and is mainly used in construction. This timber may also be called sawn timber, because products are sawn on four sides. In order to prevent timber from rot and fungus, it is usually being impregnated. Planed timber may also be impregnated. The advantage of dried and planed timber is precise of size and high quality. Planed timber may be sorted according to the strength grading; this kind of timber is called strength graded timber. In order to obtain large sizes, length, curved forms, timber maybe made from glued lamellas and is called glued timber.
